I am shocked and saddened to hear the news of Mike's untimely passing. My prayers go out to his lovely wife and children as well as other family and friends.
I was fortunate to have been Mike's friend at W&M and enjoyed the bond of being part of the swimming family there. Mike made me laugh, smile and not take things too seriously so many times. I was lucky enough to have continued our friendship after graduating and through part of his grad school years.
We lost touch and then he found me again and I enjoyed his family's annual holiday photo card with the children he was so proud of. Each Christmas I would recognize his distinctive handwriting on the outside of the envelope as I gathered our mail and look forward to opening it.
His good nature, love of family and friends and his smile will never be forgotten. Once again, my heartfelt condolences are extended to all who knew and loved Mike. He will be missed by many.

Sue, Connor and Kendall -- You are precious to us. You are the people Mike loved most in this world. And as he was one of my closest lifelong friends (starting at age 11), you all mean so very much to us. You are in our hearts and in our prayers all the time.
I wanted to share one memory that came flooding back yesterday, after I left the funeral, and the reception at your home, and drove away, praying for you all. It was the night before I turned 23 years old. I had been working around the clock on the Hill, as had Mike. We were all exhausted, and Mike and I were also even more fried because we had been in and out of rehearsals for whatever show or choir we were in at the time. I had been too busy to think about trying to get together with friends for my birthday, and (as an off-the-chart extrovert) was secretly bummed that no-one had come to me to arrange anything for the next day. I somehow got out of work at the "early" hour of 9 pm and went straight to bed.
At precisely midnight there was a massive explosion. Or at least, that's the way it felt. Like, I went from being in the deepest REM sleep, to being slammed awake by the loudest alarm clock ever. I jumped out of bed, my heart racing, and went running around the room. I was so completely disoriented, it took me at least ten seconds to realize that Mike had gathered the entire gang and they were singing the Halleluiah Chorus at the tops of their lungs outside my house.
I'm sure the neighbors weren't exactly happy, but I had never felt more loved. Mike -- of course -- had been watching, aware, as he always was, of how people were feeling. He was just as tired as I was, but he wanted me to know that people cared. There's a passage in the Bible (Philippians 2:15) that asks us to share the Father's love and care and "shine like stars" in the darkness, with those who need it. I believe Mike was very struck by that passage and those like it. You experienced that love and care every day, from the moment he fell in love with you, Sue. Mike loved you, Sue, Connor and Kendall, with an everlasting love. He would have done absolutely anything for you. And although I don't know how heaven works, I feel pretty certain that Mike is watching and loving you, missing you terribly, but eager to see you on that great day when you will be reunited again.
We love you, friends.

To Mike's family:
I am so saddened to learn about Mike and have all of you in my thoughts. Mike was a tremendous mentor to me during the 5 years we worked together at PRTM. I learned so much by working with Mike - he was a patient and focused teacher and led by example, always the hardest working person in the room. Mike also had a deep care for his team, both from a personal level, as well as a strong desire to help us develop professionally. After leaving PRTM, I have looked to Mike for guidance in my career moves and still recognize how he shaped and enabled my career. Mike was so full of life and will be greatly missed.

Wow. Was stunned to hear this. Michael probably is the person I can say I have known longest my entire life- from when we were very young kids together at West Point NY and his Mom used to make us octopus hotdogs. Later, he and his mom and Eddie lived a few houses down from my Grandparents in Lake Barcroft and i would spend many nights at his house as a kid and many a weekend together with both his Mom and his Dad. Very saddened and my thoughts and prayers are with his friends and family.

My deep condolences to the Deagle family.
As with everyone else, I am shocked and heartbroken to hear about his passing. I was fortunate enough to work with Mike on many projects, but I often tell the story about my first PRTM project as a new Sr. Associate more than 10 years ago where Mike was the Director. I was working late at the client completely some deliverables and Mike was sitting next to me working just as hard. His presence made me feel that I wasn’t in this alone, that we were in it together, that he had my back, that we were there to make the client better and successful. As a new Associate, this set the tone for my career and through that project he taught me what it meant to be a consultant and how to make those around you successful. His mentorship throughout my career has been invaluable and the lessons which he taught me I carry forward on my all projects. He was truly loved and will be greatly missed.

Words truly cannot express how much Mike has meant to me as a partner, office mate, and friend for more than 15 years.
From his time working on high tech clients to his renewed passion as a leader in the pharmaceutical industry, Mike's energy, enthusiasm, wit, compassion, and camaraderie have always been a shining light to help guide those around him.
His commitment and giving spirit truly personified the meaning of partnership. Indeed, Mike was the very first one who I looked to for advice as I started on my own journey towards partnership at PRTM. I will never forget his guidance and encouragement, and will forever be grateful.
Perhaps my fondest memory, however, will be a lesson that Mike has left for both his family and those who surrounded him. Even after two decades in consulting, it is clear, Mike still loved to learn. Even in what would become, shockingly, his final year, he still sought out lessons from his PwC partners and clients, to help him continue to grow.
My deepest condolences to Sue and family during this most difficult time. May MIke's memory be a blessing for you and all who knew and loved him.

Mike was one of my first directors when I was a new associate at PRTM. I caught him right before he switched to the life sciences group, and we were on a challenging assignment to evaluate a new technology acquisition for a major industrial parent. I will always recall Mike's strong booming voice, his calm demeanor (even when I knew we were both flying blind heading into a senior board member meeting), and his overly patient style. Almost a year in the Boston suburbs at this little tech firm working with Mike left me with a profound respect for Mike both personally and professionally. I remember him as somewhere between a great older brother and a professional peer. And I could always poke fun at him as his high school still had his impressive swim times posted on their web site (as the prodigal son) more than a decade after he had left college.
As PRTM evolved, Mike became he spokesperson for the younger partners - a role he filled well. He was a natural for this role - highly trusted, incredibly even keeled, and a knack for using his strong voice to calm/redirect tough conversations in the right direction. He guided us through many tough conversations and decisions with grace and patience.
Mike, we will miss you and I wish I had more time to kick back with you over another Logan airport dinner.

Deep condolences...I am so incredibly sorry for your loss. I was heartbroken to hear about Mike's passing, but hope you take some comfort in the fact that he truly enriched the lives of those around him.
Over the course of my consulting career, I have worked with countless partners and collaborators, but Mike Deagle was a single standout among them who I hold in the highest esteem.
Mike always bent over backwards to mentor us, his teammates. He would never opt to take an easier route or make things simple, but instead insisted that he, and everyone around him give 1000%. In doing that he also brought out the best in all of us- Mike never compromised, and was made of nothing but integrity.
One especially fond memory: After an especially lengthy set of projects, Mike insisted that our team blow off some steam, and organized an off-site poker day in Atlantic City. We had some 30 staffers join, many of whom gathered together at a large poker table to play (at Mike's insistence, he and Rob Franco ponied up cash for each of us to play- we could win, but we couldn't lose!)
We started to play and looked at our cards- almost immediately Mike turns to the right and shows his cards, and says, "remind me, how do you play again?"
He was such an incredible person, mentor and friend. He will be dearly missed.
