Obituary of Michael Campbell Deagle
Michael Deagle passed away suddenly on November 15 at the age of 50. He was born on June 28th, 1966 in Massachusetts to Mary Ann and Ed Deagle. He went to the College of William and Mary for his undergraduate degree, and graduated from the Fuqua School of Business and the Sanford Public Policy Institute at Duke University with an MBA and MPP.
He was a loving father who always cared about his family and did everything that he could for us. He would always come home whenever he had the chance, even if it was just for a few hours to see us. He would always tuck his kids in whenever he had the chance, and woke us up with a special “daddy wakeup” whenever he could. When our family had “Family Movie Night” every Friday, he would always sit and snuggle with us, and he would always welcome us into “The Big Bed”, whenever one of us could not sleep. He worked as hard as he did so that his family could have a better life, and he constantly worked long hours and under difficult pressures for us.
He was an extraordinarily kind and thoughtful person who always loved his kids and his wife. Mommy and Daddy just celebrated their 18th wedding anniversary in October. Whenever any of us needed anything, he was always willing to help. He was always thankful for all of the people in his life. He was the “finder” of the family for any missing object, tech support (with his sidekick Connor), chief stain fighter, spider killer and just always the guy that got it all done.
He cherished his time with his family at our wonderful home in Duck, North Carolina. He was so proud to be able to give us a beautiful place to make memories, which we will continue to do. We also enjoyed many wonderful trips together - skiing, going to the beach, and his big 50th birthday trip to London and South Africa. We will cherish that trip for the rest of our lives.
He was a beloved husband, father, brother, son, colleague and friend. He made us all better and he will be deeply missed.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Thursday, November 17, 2016 at Adams Green Funeral Home.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, November 18, 2016 at Adams Green Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Georgetown Neonatal Intensive Care Unit and the Task Force Dagger Foundation.
