I was a member of the final NNP class in 1997. I found out only today that Susan had died. Know that I absolutely adored her and loved being in her class at Georgetown. I had the true privilege of knowing her and of being taught by her. I am truly sorry for her passing.

It was an honor and a privilege to serve with Susan in P.E.O. Chapter AZ. She redefined the phrase "grace under pressure," and has been an inspiration to us all. My thoughts and prayers are with all of you.

Cheryl, Lisa and family, I am so sorry for your loss. Susan will be greatly missed. I look back fondly on my trip to VA in 2007. She was such a gracious hostess and tour guide. We had such a nice time. Thank you for all the photos you've posted on Facebook through the years. It was always fun to see the ones of Sue. Will be thinking of you all on Monday.

Lisa. I'm so sorry for your loss. Your mom sure did live a full life albeit too short for all those who love her. She was an impressive lady, one I wish I had gotten to know. May you memories and love give you comfort during this difficult time.

I knew Susan through PEO and she was such an interesting and thoughtful person. I always admired her traveling spirit and loved hearing stories about all her adventures. She was just an amazing person who I admired so much. My thoughts are with your entire family during this difficult time.

I loved Sue! I was her student in the NNP program at Georgetown, and then I taught in the program with her. I will never forget the NANN conference in San Antonio Texas. Sue, Rosemary, Pam, Marianne and I had so much fun together!! A few years ago at our Advanced Practice Neonatal Nursing Forum in DC- we honored Sue as one of the best NNP mentors ever. They asked the audience, how many of you were taught and mentored by Dr. McCabe? About 75% of the audience stood up. Sue was there, she got a standing ovation. Lots of love in the room for her. My condolences to the family.

It meant so much to me, and to my family, to have Susan at my wedding reception in 2014. This is one of my favorite photos of the day.
Susan was always so much fun to spend time with. I admired so much the friendship that she and my mom shared, and I am grateful that they got to have so many wonderful experiences together.
Susan will be very much missed. Sending her family peace and love.

I was saddened to hear from Cheryl saying that her mom, Sue, has passed away. Sue was one of my bosses at Georgetown University Medical Center - for many years she (mostly her) and I ran the NNP program there and I will say that she was one of the best bosses a girl could ask for. I am sorry that she and I lost touch over the years, but I will say that I will always treasure her for teaching me so much about work ethic and professionalism in the workforce. She is a gem and a very classy lady. May she rest in peace.
