Obituary of Susan Michelle Gibson

Susan Michelle Gibson Of Herndon Virginia, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, December 1, 2016. She was born on September 1, 1973 in upstate New York. Susan graduated from Oakton High School and Virginia Tech. She was active in Girl Scouts and Explorer Scouts and was a camp counselor during college summers at Boy Scout Camp where she taught archery. Susan walked the entire C&O Canal and loved to travel the world. At the time of her death she was working as a government contractor. She was predeceased by her brother, David Andrew Gibson. Susan is survived by her parents, Andrew and Patricia Gibson of Bumpass, Virginia, her brother Michael Gibson (Jennifer) of Oak Hill, Virginia, a niece and nephew, Lindsey and Shane Gibson, aunts, uncles and cousins. Susan will be remembered for her dedicated work ethic, her kind yet modest disposition and her enthusiastic love of all animals. At the time of her death Susan had one canine child, Molly, and two feline children, Q2 and Bartok. She also fostered both dogs and cats through her volunteer work at the Fairfax County Animal Shelter. She did other volunteer work in the community over the years, including the Fairfax County Community Emergency Response Team and sewing for charity. No services are planned at this time. Memorials may be made to the Fairfax County Animal Shelter.
