Obituary of Martha Rust Hummer

Martha R. Hummer On Thursday, January 12, 2017 Martha Hummer passed peacefully at INOVA Loudoun Hospital, Leesburg, VA. Martha Hummer was a long time resident of Loudoun County. Beloved wife of Thomas T Hummer and loving mother of Thomas (Rusty) & (Lorrie), Preston & (Janice), and Ashton & (Mary), sister of Mary Sutphin, and brother of Robert Rust. She was grandmother of Melissa Grier & (Zachary), Darbie Johnson & (Jeremi), Aubrey, Mollie, Samantha, Mackenzie, Paul, Eilleen, and Grady Hummer, and great grandmother of Kellian and Talan Johnson, and Tatianna Smith. Martha was a beloved housewife and mother for 60 years. She was a devoted member of the United Methodist Church and Sterling Ruritan Club. She was a long time counselor of the AA organization. Martha had many loves including gardening, quilting, painting, needle point stitching, and traveling the country with friends and family within their RV community. Services will be held on Tuesday January 17, 2017 at Sterling United Methodist Church, 304 E Church Road Sterling, VA 20164. Visitation is from 12:30-2 pm. A memorial service will immediately follow the visitation. A private internment service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Sterling United Methodist Church, 304 E Church Road Sterling, VA 20164.
