Chris.............I am so sorry to hear of Dick's passing. He was a great guy. I'll always remember how nice he was to my son (whom he had never met before) when he gave him some pointers re: his golf stroke (no surprise there) when we happened to run into him at the Fair Oaks driving range one day. He will be sorely missed

I was in the Army with Dick. We both were in the same company for boot camp at Fort Jackson, SC (Lt. Butts nick named him the "Ice Cream Man"), later Fort Gordon, GA for Signal Corp. training, joined a 459th Signal Battalion at Fort Huachuca, AZ, then Viet Nam. We had a lot of adventures together, including our attempt to visit the Grand Canyon, missed it by 500 miles and wound up in Los Angeles. When we went into town in Viet Nam the locals would run back into their houses and bring everyone out because they had never seen a man as large as Dick. We shared an apartment and then a house after the Army. Our life paths took different directions, but I always liked and respected the big man as so many others did as well.

Although distance limited the frequency of our visits, I remember fondly our travels to the D.C. area to spend time with the Morgan clan and my older, wiser cousins. In recent years Lisa and I have been able to visit a couple times. We relished those visits and, even with his compromised state of health, Dick maintained his status as my cool big cousin with his wit and words of wisdom. Lisa and I will miss him dearly.

Dick was a long-time friend and enjoyed seeing him so many mornings both at McDonald's small breakfast club and also at the Great Falls Breakfast Club which met at various locations.
He will be missed; especially our many conversations over the years. Now, after all those years of suffering; he is finally at peace.
I want to extend my deepest sympathy of Chris and all his family at this difficult time

Chris. I am so sorry to hear about Dick's passing. Jim has often spoken fondly about the two of you. We met the two of you at the airport years ago when we were off for a cruise. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. I hope all of the wonderful memories will sustain you in the days ahead. Our deepest sympathy.

Chris, My sincere condolences. I always enjoyed the WBGA golf outing with you and Dick, especially the one in Caledonia where you bought the infamous stump. Dick was a great guy and although I haven't seen either of you for years since I moved to Tennessee I would phone Dick a few times a year. Even though I knew he had serious health problems he was always cheerful when we spoke and reminisced about the old days. I called him the gentle giant and will miss speaking with him. May the Lord bless you and the rest of your family in this time of great sorrow.
Fondly,
Jim

Both Robby and I worked with Dick at Verizon from the days of C&P Telephone Co. Dick was certainly one of the easiest going , warm hearted & a fun guy to be around. He laughed easily, especially at himself. RIP old friend. Our sincere condolences to his family.

Uncle Dick was a man I spent far too little time with, but he left an immeasurable impact on my life ~ I pray for peace for the family that loved him dearly.

My Father was a tough man and put up a long strong fight against the disease that ultimately beat him. He will be greatly missed, and will always be remembered as a good father to us, a good husband to Chris, and a good friend to many. We love you Dad.
