Obituary of Richard Keith Morgan

Richard Keith Morgan, age 71, passed away at home on March 30th after a long and courageous battle with Multiple Myeloma. Dick Morgan is survived by his wife, Christine, his two children, Jeff Morgan and Lauren Hite, his brother, Don Morgan, and four grandchildren, Sarah and Josh Hite, and Chelsea and Tyler Bailey. He was predeceased by his other brother, Robert Morgan, and by his stepson, William Bailey. Dick was born in Chicago, Illinois on June 2nd, 1945. He was one of three sons born to Freeman and Ruth Morgan, and grew up in Takoma Park, MD. As children, the three sons followed in their parents footsteps, competing in junior rifle shooting matches locally and at Camp Perry, Ohio. Dick served in the U.S. Army as a Communications Specialist and is a veteran of the Vietnam War. Shortly after being discharged from the Army, Dick went to work for the Bell System (what is now Verizon), working as a technician, a cable splicer, and later as an engineer for a career spanning over 30 years. He retired from Verizon to pursue his other passions, which included traveling with his wife, golfing, boating, riding his Harley Davidson, and in more recent years, spending time at home with their two Boston Terriers, Harley and Bailey. Services will be held at a future date at Arlington National Cemetery.
