Dear Lucy, It is with great sorrow that we heard of Joe's passing. It takes a while for news to reach us in Florida! During the time Joe and I both worked at GE, I had the pleasure of sharing an office suite with him during the years that our two offices were moved from the Rockville building to the "Outpost" on Crabbs Branch Parkway. Joe and I shared many lunchtimes together and found we had many similar interests including cars, cameras, and traveling. I treasured the times we would wander into each other's offices at the end of the workday and just chat and unwind. Edith and I loved being with you both on the Markmakers outings and trips abroad. I will always remember Joe for his pleasant wit, his sincerity in whatever he was doing, and his love of life. Our condolences to you and you family from both of us. I admired, appreciated and respected Joe during my years at GEIS. He was consistently helpful and upbeat to any cause I came to him to address. Joe was not condescending or negative - even when questioning technical issues. He was wise more than most around him. Joe had a large and generous heart - at a time when showing character was not popular. He often helped fellow workers - even me, at a time he was not obligated to help. At the right time and place - Joe was friend, even counselor to many. Not many like Joe around anymore. I have missed him. God love him.
