Obituary of Susan Lee Pittman

Susan Pittman Obituary Susan Lee Pittman, age 62 of Leesburg, Virginia, went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on Tuesday, April 18, 2017. Susan was born January 28, 1955 in Dallas, Texas to Charles & Frances Whatley. After graduating from Garland High School in Garland, Texas, she attended Bob Jones University in Greenville, South Carolina. Susan married the love of her life, David Pittman on June 21, 1974, they met while in the Jr. High Youth Group of Lavon Drive Baptist Church in Garland, Texas and were high school sweethearts. Throughout her life, she applied herself to being a loving and devoted pastor’s wife, mother, grandmother (Nana), sister, and friend. She was a prayer warrior, Bible teacher, choir member and encourager to all who knew her. One of her greatest joys was serving as a Pre-K and Kindergarten teacher for 25 years. Her life "patterned" after Christ is a beautiful legacy for all of us to follow. She loved spending time with the ladies of Temple Baptist Church to study God’s word. Susan’s life scripture verse is Proverbs 3:5-6 “Trust in thy Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge Him and He shall direct thy paths.” She lived her life with a servant’s heart for Jesus. Her beauty and grace will never be forgotten. Susan was preceded in death by her Mother, Frances Whatley. Survived by her husband David Pittman of 45 years, Son Jeremy Pittman and Brother, Scott Whatley. Daughter-in-Law Mandy Pittman and Sister-in-Law Victoria Whatley. Grandchildren Micah Pittman, Micayla Pittman, and Malachi Pittman. Pallbearers will be: James Calamore, David Durham, Rob Fredericks, Drew Gardner, Terry Jackson, Chase Lund, John Monczewski, Eddie Moore. Visitation Service: Monday, April 24, 2017 at 6:00-8:00 p.m. and Tuesday, April 25, 2017 at 10:00-12:00 pm at Temple Baptist Church, 1545 Dranesville Rd., Herndon, Virginia 20170. Funeral Service: Tuesday, April 25, 2017 at 12:00 p.m. at Temple Baptist Church. Burial will follow at Chestnut Grove Cemetery, (across the street from the church) at 831 Dranesville Rd, Herndon, Virginia, 20170, immediately following the funeral. There will be a reception to follow at Temple Baptist Church. In lieu of flowers please send gifts to the Temple Baptist Church Missions program for the Ugandan Orphanage project she so dearly loved.
