Obituary of William Herman Bain

William Herman Bain, age 54, died peacefully surrounded by his family in INOVA Fairfax Hospital on April18, 2017 in Falls Church, Virginia. Bill is survived by his wife, Dana and his children Garrett and Gabrielle. He also is survived by his brother Carl Bain, Jr., his niece Bethany Leslie, and nephew Sam Bain. He is preceded in death by his parents Carl and Huldah Bain of McConnellsburg, Pennsylvania, his sister Annette Williams and brother Gary Bain. Bill was born on July 26, 1962 in McConnellsburg. In 1980 he graduated from McConnellsburg High School; in 1984 he graduated from the Pennsylvania State University with a Bachelors degree in Computer Science; and in 1999 he received a Masters in Information Systems Technology fromGeorge Washington University. Bill worked as a consultant and executivewith information technology-focused firms. Bill married Dana Cote in 2000 and was a kind, loving husband and father to his wife and two children. He enjoyed playing golf, watching his son and daughter participate in athletics, and traveling with his family. His special love was raising trout and grass-fed Angus cattle on his farm in McConnellsburg. He supported activities for a clean natural environment and was a member of Narrows Gunning and Game Protective Association. He was a member of the Herndon United Methodist Church (HUMC). A Memorial service is scheduled for 4pm, Sunday April23rd at HUMC, with a reception immediately following in the fellowship hall. On Monday April 24th, the family will receive visitors from 10-11am at McConnellsburg United Methodist Church (MUMC), McConnellsburg, PA followed by an 11am Funeral service at the MUMC and burial at Union Cemetery, McConnellsburg, PA and luncheon reception back at the church. Reverend Gary Robbins of HUMC will officiate both ceremonies. All are welcome to attend.
