I will always remember Kathleen. She helped me with a budget and tax software, for she had learned to be frugal growing up and as a single mother. She shared her passion for music by showing me how she recorded many concerts and then went home to diligently work on particular songs she had heard there. She shared her home and a meal, and shared homemade sandwiches in her and Bill's trailer at the Watermelon Park bluegrass festival - in other words, she invited me into her and their world. Furthermore, she was a gifted and underspoken musician, especially on the banjo. I found her to be a wonderful, loveable human being, and I shall truly miss her. I know many friends will dearly miss her as well. My deepest condolences to Bill and her family for their loss, and may she rest in peace until we meet again.

Bill, I'm so sorry that we can't be there at the service but we won't be home until the 11th. Kathleen's passing was a great shock to all of us and we certainly share your loss ... our long standing friendship with Kathleen meant a lot to the extended Cedarville community ... big hugs and good wishes from Neal and Coleen in England.

Some of our favorite memories of Kathleen are entwined with our travels together around the world. South America, Belize, the Galapagos Islands, Amsterdam...her perpetual laugh meant for a lovable travel companion. When we left Virginia, leaving Bill and Kathleen was one of the hardest parts. She and Bill mean so much to us. Our hearts break for you, Bill...wish we could be there for you.

So sorry to learn about Kathleen;s passing. She was always a shining presence at the Folk Club of Reston-Herndon. She loved playing the banjo with whatever group came together. For me she was always a great encouragement because she quietly reordered performances of showcases and other open mic. Without her recordings I would have lost many enjoyable nights playing for the folk club often with my children. A very loving and caring woman.
