Farrar, Kathleen Johnson,

Of Vienna, VA. On Thursday, May 25, 2017.  She was 68. Kathleen was born in Takoma Park and lived in the greater DC area throughout her life.

She was a member of Sterling United Methodist Church, Capital Area Bluegrass and Old Time Music Association, Reston Herndon Folk Club, DC Bluegrass Union, Folklore Society of the Greater Washington Area, The Dulcimer Disorganization of the Washington Area and associated with many other groups.

Kathleen was an active member of several area folk music and bluegrass groups, including the Reston-Herndon folk Club and CABOMA.  She played banjo and piano.  She and her husband Bill were regular attendees at many area music jams and several annual music festivals.

Wife of Bill Farrar; mother of Victoria Abbott; sister of Evelyn Brewer, Stephanie May, Bobby, Ricky, Tommy, Joe and Gregory Johnson.

 Family will receive friends on Friday, June 2, 2017 from 10 AM until funeral service to begin at 11 AM at Sterling United Methodist Church 304 E. Church Rd. Sterling, VA.  Interment Chestnut Grove Cemetery in Herndon, VA.  A reception and afternoon music jam will follow at the church.
