Obituary of Patricia Anne Sears

Patricia Anne O’Neil Sears, 65, of Leesburg, Virginia passed away surrounded by family and friends on June 12th, 2017. We are comforted in knowing that she has joined her sister Maureen O’Neil, husband Robert Sears and her loving parents John and Helen O’Neil. She is survived by her brother, Joseph O’Neil, and her daughters, Maura Sears and Seana Sears.

Born in New Jersey on August 10th, 1951, Patricia was raised all across the globe with her tight-knit family following her father’s Air Force career. She graduated from Frankfurt American High School in Frankfurt, Germany and attended Stamford College of Nursing in Connecticut before deciding on her career path as a nurse anesthetist. She married Robert Sears in 1989 and started a family in the Northern Virginia area. The two greatest joys in her life came in the form of her daughters Maura and Seana. She continued her career while raising her two daughters, embodying her love for taking care of others.

Trish was passionate about gardening, cooking and reading with her multiple book clubs. She could always be found in her kitchen whipping up a new delicious creation and making sure everyone had tried some. She created a sense of joy and comfort everywhere she went, making everyone feel at home. She has taught us all that a life with strength and purpose begins with a foundation of generosity and selflessness.

The funeral service will be on Saturday, June 17th at 10am at Christ the Redeemer in Sterling, VA followed by a celebration at Jimmy’s Old Town Tavern in Herndon, VA.
