Obituary of John Nagla

John Nagla, 65, of Reston, VA, passed away on June 22, 2017.

Born on November 17, 1951, he was the son of the late Stanislavs and Taisa. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Anton.

John retired from the United States Postal Service after 35 years of service. He began his career in the United States Army, serving for two years as a medic in England. He was an accomplished artist, an avid reader, and loved crossword puzzles, grilling, riding his motorcycle, political cartoons, and gardening. He was often found sunning on the patio or enjoying his morning coffee on the porch with his constant companions, Isis and Starfish.

He is survived by his wife, Carrie; his daughter, Sonya; his grandchildren, Alicia, Josef, Ian, Erika, Luke, Wyatt, and Remy; and his siblings, Valdis, Inara, Arnie, and George.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, June 28, 2017, at St. John Neumann Catholic Church, 11900 Lawyers Rd, Reston, VA 20191.
