My Aunt Becky Montan, and her husband, Jon Montan, have been central pillars of our family for my entire 68 years of life. I remember my parents, Nils, Sr. and Mary Montan, showing my brother, Christopher, and I 8 MM home movies showing Aunt Becky and Uncle Jon, at the Gordonhurst Apartments in Upper Montclair, the day I was brought home from the hospital. My father died when he was only 58 in 1973, and Uncle Jon ("Uncle Jackie" to us) stepped into the role as a surrogate father to Chris and me, a job he served in with distinction. Over the years, I had many wonderful conversations with Aunt Becky and Uncle Jackie in Upper Montclair, Verona, and West Caldwell. So many found memories. I will miss her presence in my life tremendously. She and Uncle Jackie have always been so kind and welcoming to my Brazilian Wife, Teresa. God bless her always.
