Obituary of Aloysius John Warnecki

Aloysius John Warnecki

Aloysius J. Warnecki passed away on August 11, 2017 at the age of 98 with family by his side. Al was born April 30, 1919 in Blossburg, PA.  Upon graduation from high school, Al moved to Harrisburg to work as an accountant for the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. Following the Japanese bombing of Pearl Harbor, Al enlisted in the Marine Corp where he was assigned to the Marine Corp First Division ("The Big Red One"). He served in the Pacific theatre and rose to the rank of Sergeant. Following the war, Al became a Foreign Service Officer with the Department of State where he served for over 35 years. Al’s overseas tours of duty included Pusan, Korea, The Hague, The Netherlands, Prague, Czechoslovakia, Libreville, Gabon, Antananarivo, Madagascar and Montevideo, Uruguay.

Al was a devout Catholic gentleman, a devoted husband and father, a loving and proud father-in-law and grandfather. He was a loyal friend and lover of pets (especially, Myshka, Buffy, Murray and Bo).

Al is preceded in death by his beloved wife of 39 years, Patricia Corwin Warnecki and his younger brother Eugene M. Warnecki. He is survived by his only son Mark C. Warnecki, daughter-in-law Cindy Warnecki and granddaughters Samantha (20), Kathryn (17) and Heather (15) Warnecki.

The family will recieve friends from 6-8pm on Thursday August 17, 2017 at Adams-Green Funeral Home 721 Elden St. Herndon, VA 20170. A Mass of Catholic Burial will be offered at 11am on Friday August 18, 2017 at Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church 46639 Algonkian Parkway, Potomac Falls, VA 20165. Interment will be private.
