Obituary of Maurice Declan Bransfield

On Monday, September 11th, Maurice “Deck” Declan Bransfield III of Herndon, VA, died at Moses Cone Memorial Hospital in Greensboro, NC.  Deck had undergone multiple spinal surgeries after a fall and ultimately passed away six months later of congestive heart failure.  Deck was the beloved husband of Alice M. Bransfield and father of Maurice “Mick” Declan Bransfield IV.  He is preceeded in death by his parents, Maurice “Mick” Declan Bransfield II and Gladys Hynes Bransfield.

Deck was a graduate of Norfolk Catholic High School, Old Dominion University, and Georgetown University.  He spent his career in direct mail fundraising for Republican politicians (including Reagan, Helms, and Buchanan), conservative political issues, museums, and animal rescue.  He retired as the Vice President of Eberle Communications Group in 2014 after 35 years of service.

Family will receive friends at Adams-Green Funeral Home (721 Elden St, Herndon, VA) on Monday, September 18th from 6-9 pm with mass at St. Joseph Catholic Church (750 Peachtree St, Herndon, VA) on Tuesday, September 19th at 11 am and interment at Chestnut Grove Cemetery (831 Dranesville Rd).  The family suggests that memorial contributions may be made to St. Joseph Catholic Church in Herndon, VA.
