Obituary of Kimberly Ann Young
Kimberly (Kim) Ann Straley Young, 51, of Herndon, Virginia departed this life to be with her Lord and Savior on September 27, 2017 after a long and courageous battle with cancer.
Kimberly was married to David Young on May 4,1987 in Herndon, Virginia. She is survived by her husband David Young, sons, Joshua Young, Justin Young and Cody Young of Herndon, Virginia, her Brother Karl Lee Straley and his wife Brenda of Summit Point, WV and their daughter Janet Peterson, along with several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father Jackie V. Straley and her mother Shirley Ann Straley.
Kim was born in Silver Spring, MD on September 9, 1966 daughter of Jackie and Shirley Batton Straley. She is a 1984 graduate of Herndon High School.
Kimberly worked for several companies in the Herndon-Reston areas and became the owner of S & S Telnet upon the death of her father and mother which she operated until her health forced her to give up her work.
Kimberly enjoyed helping in school activities to support her sons, traveling and camping and was a avid fan of West Virginia University sports and the Pittsburgh Steelers football team.
Friends may call at the Adams-Green Funeral Home, 721 Elden Street, Herndon, VA from 2:00 P.M. to 5:00 P.M. on Sunday October 1. 2017. Viewing and funeral services will be held there from 10:00 A.M. to 12:00 P.M. on Monday October 2, 2017.
There will also be a service at Beverly Hills Memorial Gardens Mausoleum, 3 ½ miles south on Hwy. 19, Westover, WV from 1:00 P.M. to 2:00 P.M. on Tuesday October 3, 2017 with a grave site service for family only after that service.
It is requested that in lieu of flowers a donation be made in Kimberly's memory to the American Cancer Society P.O.
