Our most heartfelt condolences to Bill's family. Patsy and I enjoyed working with Bill for parts of nearly four decades both as a College Board staff member and Patsy during her tenure at Northwestern University.
Always tremendoulsy affable and easy going, Bill's guidance in the predictably topsy-turvey world of financial aid delivery systems was greatly appreciated. Bill will be remembered not only for his quiet sense of humor and, from my perspective, his oft overlooked expertise, but also for his ability to 'calm the waters' amidst the literally constant stress faced not only by colleagues but also by the postsecondary higher education community who relied so heavily on the quality products Bill was so instrumental in helping deliver.
Always upbeat and positve, Bill was a prince of a fellow and consumate professional. We are so very fortunate to have known and worked with him. We were deeply saddened to learn of Bill's passing and send our very best wishes to family and friends.

So sad to hear about Bill Cavanaugh's death.
Bill was the text book definition of Gentleman.
His passion to help underprivileged kids to have access to CSS Profile was a noble task. Bill Cavanaugh had this vision to helps kids who couldn't afford paying for CSS Profile scholarship program. My colleagues and I had worked on implementing some complex software logic on Bill's vision to help every kid achieve their dreams and aspirations.
May he rest in peace.
