Obituary of Emma H. Miller

Emma H. Miller of Herndon, Virginia passed away on November 10, 2017, at Reston Hospital Center after complications following open heart surgery.

Beloved wife of Richard S. Miller and loving mother of William S. Miller. Leaves behind devoted parents Ray and Virginia Kidwell, sister Pam Kidwell Mathews and husband Ferlin. Mother-in-law Jean Miller, sister-in-law Audrey Miller Peck and husband Calvin, nephew Cody Peck and wife Angelica, niece Alyson Peck Reynolds and husband Nathan and nephew Jacob Mathews. Also leaves behind many aunts, uncles and cousins.

Preceded in death by father-in-law Stanley Miller, grandmother Lillian Holdaway Ritch, grandfather Joseph Ritch, grandmother Isabelle Kidwell Plotner and grandfather Howard Plotner.

Born on October 18, 1958 in Woodstock, Virginia. Emma was employed by Fairfax County Public School System at the Herndon Middle School, as an Instructional Assistant where she worked for 20 years.

Some of Emma’s greatest passions were raising and showing mini rex rabbits, gardening, and working in the rabbit barn at the Fauquier County Fair. Her greatest accomplishment was raising her son, William, and taking care of her family.

In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the First Baptist Church of Herndon and the American Heart Association.

Family will receive guests at Adams-Green Funeral Home, 721 Elden St., Herndon, VA on Wednesday, November 15 from 5:00 - 8:00 p.m..  Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, November 16 at First Baptist Church, 681 Elden Street, Herndon, VA followed by interment at Chestnut Grove Cemetery in Herndon.
