Obituary of Joseph Anthony Wiencko, Jr.

Joseph Wiencko, 57

Joseph "Joe" Anthony Wiencko, Jr. 57 passed away on Thursday, November 16, 2017 in Fairfax, Virginia. He was born February 3, 1960 to Joseph and Joan Wiencko in Connecticut. Survivors include his mother, Joan, his 4 sons, Anthony Wiencko, Benjamin Wiencko, Zachary Wiencko, and Christopher Wiencko, 3 brothers Tom Wiencko of Georgia, Ken Wiencko of Virginia, and Rob Wiencko of Virginia; as well as many nieces, a nephew, other relatives, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father and his grandparents.

Joe was an inventor of Wiencko code, served as a director of The Blacksburg Electronic Village project at Virginia Tech. He has also worked for GE, as a consultant for Shentel, and others. He owned a plane, a sailboat and was a member of the Visa Yacht Club. 

Funeral services for Joseph will be a St. John Newman Catholic Church in Reston on Tuesday, November 28 at 10:00 a.m.
