Jimmy,
My deepest condolences go out to you and all your family as you deal with this tremendous loss. Though we were not "close", as Bert's sister I feel I've known Joyce and you over all these years, simply as his closest and most treasured friends. So I just want to let you know that I am thinking of you and sending you love and strength. I know she battled long and hard with courage and generosity and enormous grace.
Love to you,
Gloria

To Joyce's family,
There are no words that can express my sadness over your loss. Joyce was a remarkable woman, even in high school where I met her. How many people at age 69 have enjoyed a 48 year marriage? That is an accomplishment one can only dream of.
Joyce loved all of you and spoke of you with such love that it caused me goose bumps. She found the job she was best at - being a wife, mother and grandmother. Also, her work to help others who had breast cancer is evidence of extreme empathy and sympathy for others.
I so hope that the grandchildren will remember Joyce in their minds and hearts. You must keep her memory alive for them. I wish all of you peace of mind, knowing that Joyce is no longer suffering. With love, Suz

Pope Francis wrote, "Grace is not part of consciousness; it is the amount of light in our souls, not knowledge nor reason." Joyce had an abundance of light in her soul that filled her life and that she shared with all those she loved. Her "grace" will be missed by one and all.
She was an extraordinary daughter, sister, wife, mother and friend...not to mention a wonderful god-daughter. I was most fortunate to also call her my friend. God be with you, my Dear One!
