I had the privilege at the FCC of working with Dave on the Communications Assistance for Law Enforcement Act (CALEA) proceeding. Dave was "Mr. CALEA" and will be sorely missed. RIP, and see you down the road.

I was very saddened at the news. I worked in the same group with Dave although never on the same projects. Dave loved a good joke and told good stories. But deep down he was all about integrity.

Dave is my colleague, friend, mentor, brother, and fellow Marine. He helped me transition to civilian life from the active duty Corps, got me into teaching and was a friend when I needed one. He was one the nations most brilliant men with a common touch. Dave ran to defend his nation during Desert Storm at great expense to his own health. He had a quick wit and endless supply of Lawyer and Irish jokes (smile). Dave will always be remembered by the Marine Corps, Capitol Technology University and most of all the hundreds of people he touched with knowledge and valuable life advice..I tear up writing this note..Dave is a Marine and his duty now is guard the gates of Heaven, teaching, mentoring and still telling jokes..

I am shocked and devastated at the passing of my favorite and closest cousin. We had known each other all our lives and I looked up to him my entire life. We were more than cousins, I considered Dave my older brother even though he was just a few months older than me. He was the smartest man I have known yet he carried his intelligence with great humility. Throughout my life, through the good times and the bad, I would always reach out to David to share those events and he would always be there for me with either great advice or a joke. Even in my darkest times he could make me laugh and make me realize that life would go on and things would get better. He had a great sense of humor and we would go on for hours telling each other jokes and funny stories and singing German drinking songs. To Mary, Kristen and Danielle, my deepest sympathy and sorrow go out to you. I Loved David and his passing leaves a hole in my heart the will never heal. I miss you my brother, Semper Fi.

David was truly a gentleman and a scholar. He was an absolute delight to work with and will sorely be missed. The work he did to help support the Public Safety community was outstanding and made the world a safer place.

I worked with David almost 20 years ago in the FCC's old Network Services Division, where he was part of a great group of people. David took his job seriously, but he was always ready with light-hearted comments that made the work more enjoyable. He was a wonderful guy and will be missed. My condolences to David's family.
