To the Vecchio Family,
Please accept my belated condolences on Joe's passing. I had not seen the notice until today when I was looking up old acquaintances on the internet.
I did not know Joe well, but I met him some 25 years ago when I was in the early years of my law practice and Joe was doing work for Wheat Corporation or one of its owners.
I cannot remember how, but Joe got my name and telephone number and contacted me about providing legal services to Wheat or its owner.
He never said it but I think he was trying to help a young paisan with a fledgling law practice.
He also took me to lunch on various occasions and we chatted about the practice of law.
I still very much appreciate his kindness, thoughtfulness and advice.
