E.G., Pancho and Gregory, There are no easy words here. I'm saddened by your mom's passing, and at the same time grateful that she and all of you have been a part of my life. I'm reminded of the same poem I thought of when my mother passed: Even in our sleep, pain which cannot forget falls drop by drop upon the heart, until, in our own despair, against our will, comes wisdom through the awful grace of God. We are forced by the circumstances of life to deal with and reconcile ourselves to the death of those we love, but we are also given memory and a sense of humbleness to temper the pain. Your mother is gone, but we are all so fortunate to have had her in our lives, and for this blessing we should give thanks.

We send condolences to E.G. & Barbra Boyce and all the family. I was at the USGS -Department of the Interior in Reston for 18 years with E.G. and his Christian leadership in the Bible Club and professional excellence is a tremendous witness for all. I knew his catholic Mom was a terrific person from the way E.G. was raised. I am a Catholic Christian, who has prayed for our unity over Jesus to send a light into our generation. We admire the blessings of your family to witness to strong character of virtues. Thank you for supporting each other. We pray for this to be a remembrance of all the good memories and special moments that make up a 87 years of Beatriz Cecilia Boyce. Thanks and praise to Jesus for a design of life that is higher than our ways. In God's house there are many mansions so I am thankful for the promises of heavens home. So many people from USGS have asked me to share the respect and affection for the special person that E.G has been in this federal agency as a strong professional and blessing to know. You should know that E.G. is admired by so many that wanted me to express condolences to your whole family during this time of sympathy.

Dear EG: It’s taken me a few days to write you (and I’d ask that you convey same to your brothers Greg and Pancho). As you well know, your mom - our dona Ceci - was like a surrogate mom to me. I have been traveling since Sunday and was saddened to hear she had passed. She was a friend of the family for almost half a century from when we - you and I - were in Manila. When I first arrived to DC in 1979 she reached out and I lived for a few days with you guys before moving into my GWU dorm. She was probably mom’s best friend to date. Indeed, dona Ceci was the “cupid” that introduced AnaVirg and well ... 32 years later we are still at it! You’re mother was an awesome human being, who only knew how to give — give love, an ear, a great home-cooked meal ... always with a smile and positive word. She maintained a deep religious relationship and embodied Christian values like no other. I miss her snd will forever remember that incredible woman. You shld be proud to be her son. She’s no doubt in a much better place, and celebrating with her familia as well as my dad and brother Jorge. Cherish your memories of your mom. I will. Ceci was a wonderful person and we feel so fortunate to have known her. She always had something positive to say. I loved sharing cooking recipes with her and treasure a cook book she gave, which she signed for me. Our children remember her fondly and she and Jared had a very special connection. 'CeciBoyce' as we called her, will be forever cherished. All our love, Vicky, Graydon and family.
