Obituary of Stuart Harrison Close

Stuart H Close, 57, died Friday March 16, 2018 at his home in Reston Virginia. A memorial service will be held at the Adams-Green Funeral Home in Herndon VA on Saturday March 24th from 2-5 pm.

Born in Tuscon Arizona in 1960, his family moved to Reston Virginia in 1970 where he grew up and continued to live. Stuart is a 1978 graduate of Herndon High School where he ran cross country, indoor track and was on the It's Academic team. Stuart majored in chemistry at Beliot College in Wisconsin where he also ran cross country.

For the last 31 years Stuart worked at Professional Services Industries/ Intertek in Nothern Virginia. At the time of his passing he was the senior inspector.

Stuart loved running and almost all sports. He loved the Redskins and the Nationals. He loved classic rock and to tell stories. He was well liked at school and work and he was generous with his time and knowledge. He will be deeply missed.

He is survived by his parents, Carl and Martha of Falls Church VA and his younger sister Carol of Frederick MD. In lieu of flowers we ask that donations be made in his name to the Herndon High School Track and Field Program.
