I will miss Harriet terribly. She and I connected from the time I started at the office and I would joke with her that we were sisters from another mother. We both were born and raised in Virginia and loved to talk about the happens in the 60's. She was such a good friend and had such a giving heart and never expected anything in return. She loved her family very much. Every one at the Office of Elections will miss her. Although retired since 2014 she continued to send everyone birthday cards and would stop by the office to drop off something for us.
We will all miss her but to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord. Mike and family you are in my thoughts and prayers.

Harriet, you are a beautiful light. God has taken you under his wing to be with him in forever peace.
When I first started driving for FCPS in 1993, you were my trainer/mentor; wonderful and so patient. You loved your quilting and tried to teach me, it just wasn't my thing, lol. We'll miss your smile and your laugh. RIP my friend.

My Aunt Harriet always made me feel connected to our family even though we
all live states apart. She was such a positive person, always taking time to encourage me
and offer advice. I think she would like for all of us to stay connected as family and friends.

Aunt Harriet was one of the kindest and most generous people I've ever had the pleasure of knowing. I rarely got a chance to spent time with her, as we lived states away, but she always made a point to keep in touch with me. While I was in college, she would frequently ask what I was working on with genuine interest and excitement. Taking a few minutes out of her day to write me an message with kind regards probably was a simple gesture in her eyes, but it meant a great deal to me. A pure heart and a true giver, she will be sorely missed and forever remembered.
With love,
Cecil

Harriet has been a good friend of mine for over 25 years. She always thought of others and every year she would hand-deliver a birthday card to me. I will miss Harriet's card this year. I will miss her kindness and thoughtfulness and every time I see the rose bushes that Mike planted for you I will think of you.

Harriet will be sorely missed by many. She was a bright spot in many lives; always positive and a joy to be around.
Although I haven't spent much time with her and Michael in recent years, she has been in my life as long as I can remember. She was a primary positive influence during my turbulant teen years, of which there were very few. She often presented me with a more compoassionate view of the world as I traveled through life and was always offered congratulations when I did well. As she was part of my family since I was very young, she was not only my sister-in-law, but rather, my other older sister.
In this time of grief, I am consoled by the knowledge that Harriet is with the Lord and that she is happy, healthy, and in an environment of pure love. She is truly home. As we travel through the remainder of our lives, we may mourn the death of a loved one, but we must also celebrate their lives; both the one they lived with us and the one they will live for eternity. In Harriet's case, we grieve for our loss, but cheer for her going home to the Lord.
I don't think I ever said it, but I love you, Harriet and look forward to seeing you after I have finished my time here.

My association with Harriet was through family genealogy beginning with our shared Scottish heritage. I'm sorry I never met her, but the posted tributes attest to what a fine woman she was. My sympathy to all her family.

My Aunt Harriet was my idol when I was a child, and role model as an adult. She was "Life Beautifully Lived!" Her smile had a ripple effect. She taught me to spread love, joy, and compassion to everyone. She taught me that life was about giving; never taking. I will carry on her valuable lessons and keep her in my heart always.

I am so for your lose. Meet Harriet when I started driving a bus in 1986 and Harriet was so welcoming to me.
We lived in the brown town houses near the pool off Parcher.
She was always there to help new drivers.

May you be comforted by God’s promise that “he will destroy death forever” (Isaiah 25:8). That the resurrection is real is demonstrated by Jesus at John 11:19-44 where he raised Lazarus to life after 4 days in the grave. This and other resurrection accounts show what Jehovah will do on a far grander scale in the paradise earth to come. The Bible’s promise of a resurrection does not eliminate the pain of losing a loved one. But picture the reunions as dear friends and relatives, once separated by death, hold one another again. I hope you are moved to learn more about the God who gives us this precious hope at jw.org.

Dan and family, I'm so sorry your mom has passed on. A quote I found:
When you look at your mother, you're looking at the purest love you'll ever know.
