Obituary of Walter E. Krupkowski

Krupkowski, Walter E.  (Age 71),

On Thursday, June 21, 2018 at his home in Reston, VA.  Born on October 6, 1946 in Chicago, IL where he was raised to the late Walter F. and Joan Krupkowski.  Beloved husband of Susan Krupkowski.  Loving father of Stephen ( Michelle) Krupkowski, Stephanie (Hagan) Fee and Mary Jo (Brian) Harlan.  Brother of Rose Trepino, Carol Laubinger and Frank Krupkowski.  Also survived by 10 grandchildren and 1 great grand-daughter.

He recently retired from Arlington County Government.  Walter enlisted in the U.S. Army and served tours of duty in Vietnam and Germany. He was a lifelong, ardent Chicago Cubs fan and enjoyed being a youth baseball umpire.  He also served in various positions for Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts and earlier this year was awarded the Vigil Honor, by the Order of the Arrow.  Wally loved to study the music and culture of Hawaii, both as a student at Hālau O 'Aulani and through numerous trips to Hawaii. He was a member of Trinity Presbyterian Church.

A memorial service will be held at 1 PM on Saturday, January 12, 2019 at Trinity Presbyterian Church, 651 Dranesville Rd., Herndon VA  20170.  Graveside service with military honors at Arlington National Cemetery will be held at 1 PM on Monday, January 14, 2019.  Friends and family need to gather at 12:15 PM with transportation at the Administration building.
