Nate was a friend of my son, Michael McDermott, and they both attended JMU. I continue to think of your family almost daily. I speak your family's name in church every Sunday. And my heart grieves for you as you deal with this unthinkable loss.
Blessings to you as you grieve and especially as the holidays approach. I'm always available if I can help in any way.

Dearest Susan, Dan & Sam,
My heart is filled with pain knowing the terrible grief you are experiencing. You are a warm and wonderful family and it's easy to see where Nate got his loving and gifted personality from. I regret never having the pleasure of meeting Nate. After reading the many beautiful tributes about him, I can see why he was very special and treasured by so many. Susan and Dan, I will always be here to support and love your family. As I continue to pray for the Campbell family -- God will be watching over you during this difficult time.
You will be forever in my heart,

Dear Susan, Dan and Sam,
We are so very sorry about your unbelievable loss. Nate was a remarkable young man -- President of his South Lakes class and a Senate page -- but more so we will always remember him as a wonderful neighbor!
Without fail, he greeted us with his easy-going, confident, ready smile. We will miss that for sure. He was raised in a wonderful and loving family, and his enthusiasm for life will have a lasting impact on all of us.
We wish we could be there today. Our sincere condolences from afar,

Dear Campbell Family,
Thank you for blessing us with one of the most remarkable people that I have ever met, Nate.
I am fraternity brothers with Nate and Sam through the ΠΒΧ Fraternity.
I have come to know Nate fairly well over the past few years. Despite being younger, the he was, notably, much more welcoming, and mature than the average joe. So, it was very easy to talk to him as an upperclassman.
We would talk about our career goals most often. His were to become a politician, and mine had to do with becoming a financial analyst. I enjoyed how passionate he was about his goals. He would always tell me how I am going to join his campaign as soon as he gets his degree, and each time i would halfheartedly agree. For I knew that this is not something that I wanted to do in my career, but Nate’s confidence and energy made it very easy to be sueade by his vision - a true politician.
The joy and memories that Nate has given me, and many others, will live in us forever. Thank you for the time we have had together. We will meet again.
Sincerely,
Alex Mawyer

You do not know me but my daughter is a Senior at JMU. She called to tell me she loved me the day Nathan passed. I wanted to let your family know that you have weighed heavy on my heart and held high in my prayers since that call. Our family has also suffered the tragic loss of a family member in very similar circumstance. Please know that many, many mothers, husbands, siblings, friends, grandparents, etc are lifting your family in prayer. While my daughter did not know Nathan personally, there is no doubt he was an awesome young man who strived for success and will be missed beyond comprehension. Love and continued Prayers!

I have been deeply touched and saddened by the loss of your dear one, Nathan Thomas. Although I didn't know him personally, I am a Mother and how can we ever be prepared for such a loss and enormous suffering? The needed comfort can only come from our Creator whom the Bible also calls our Father (Matthew 6:9) He can be your source of comfort now and will give you permanent comfort in the near future when He rids the Earth of all wickedness and suffering including sickness and death. Most of all He promises to bring our loved ones who have died, back to life in the resurrection on a paradise Earth (Acts 24:15).
