Nathan Thomas Campbell

“Nate”

On Tuesday, August 21, 2018 Nathan “Nate” Thomas Campbell passed away at James Madison University, in Harrisonburg, Virginia.  Nate was a junior Political Science and Finance Major. He had returned to school after spending a wonderful summer with his family and friends, and working as an intern at Spire Investment Partners.   He was excited about starting a new year at JMU.

Family and friends meant everything to Nate.  He was loved an adored by everyone he touched.  His parents, Dan and Susan were so proud of him, and he loved his parents and told them so every day.  Nate loved and admired his older brother Sam.

Nate had big dreams and aspirations.  He wanted to have a positive impact on the world, and he did.  To Nate’s friends, he was a caring, loving and inclusive person, always looking out for everyone else.  In elementary school, Nate was voted “Most Likely to be President”, and he was very proud of that.  Nate was later elected as President of his High School Class.

Nate graduated from South Lakes High School in Reston, Virginia in 2016.  He was the class president his Junior and Senior years, and officiated the 2016 graduation ceremony at George Mason University.  Nate played lacrosse for South Lakes and absolutely loved his time with his teammates.  He insisted on wearing number “9”, his brother Sam’s lacrosse number.  Nate held many different summer jobs: Lifeguard, mover, golf course maintenance, and volunteered at several campaigns for local Virginia candidates.  He was most proud of his time spent as a US Senate Page in Washington DC.  He loved politics, and his experience in the Senate gave him an inside view of government, which fascinated him.

Nate, you will be missed forever.  You have touched so many lives with your love, kindness, warmth and charming smile.  We will never forget you!

Nathan is survived by his mother and father, Susan and Daniel, his older brother Samuel, and his grandmother Loretta.  His is also survived by 15 Uncles and Aunts, 25 Cousins, his beautiful love, Kali, and too many beloved friends to count.  Nathan was preceded in death by his brother Austin Daniel, his cousin Jennifer Caitlin, his grandparents Francis  Campbell and Anne and Newton Page, and his uncle Ernie Pfeiff.
