Dear Family of Vicki Poindexter,
I am filled with sorrow at the news of our dear Sister in Christ’s departure from
this earth. She has been my friend for many years as we attended many training sessions together. Her sweet smile and positive attitude always gave me a lift of spiritual power and confidence. May the Lord bring her into God’s awesome presence so that she may rejoice with the other saints around the throne of Glory. In the name of Jesus. Amen

I’m so sorry for your recent loss. My deepest condolences to your family. Death of a loved one is never easy to endure, but you don’t have to go through it alone. You can always find comfort in our God of tender mercy Jehovah, as found at 2 Corinthians 1:3,4.

I met Vicki in 1992 when I was an Ensign assigned at Navy Annex. 5 years later, when reassigned back in DC at WNY, I was still Ensign when we talked on phone or worked projects together (despite promoting). Fast forward to 3rd tour in DC back at Annex and now a CDR but to Vicki I was still, and always, "Ensign Harris".
Vicki took time to educate me and train me and for that I am extremely grateful and lucky. Along the way we shared a few bowls of candy and laughs about Navy bureaucracy.
Sleep well Vicki

My memory of Vicki is a fond one! My first year at ACLSM she befriended me as she and I sat at the same table and did things together. She served with me on the Education Committee! After the convention she and I emailed each other and talked. My second year she made sure that we were together. She would do anything that she could do for anyone. Her smile lite up the room! She was a wonderful friend, last year she couldn't make it to our convention and she wanted to so bad that she asked me to call her during the Education meeting which I did. I put her on speaker phone and let her be part of our meeting. I will miss her, her smile and a wonderful friend. Rest in peace Vicki, love you!

I got to know Vicki as a fellow United Methodist Lay Servant Ministries leader. It was a joy to serve with her on teams and to see her at regional and national conferences.
She had such a passion for this ministry. I will miss hearing her thoughts on new educational material and getting to visit with her at events.
My prayers of peace and comfort go out to her family and friends. She will be missed by so many.

Vicki Poindexter was a friend and member of the Bridges family for more than 40 years. I have so many great memories going back to a baby shower when my husband was her boss
and my children can call her Godmother. She held my three children in her arms as babies and helped me raise them after Chuck died and was at my house during my early days of being a widow. She was part of my family through all the years with dinners and wedding plans and trips. Her family became mine. She was all heart and I feel privileged that I could comfort her some on the last day she lived. I will miss my sister but know she is helping another family in heaven. Love you forever.
