Obituary of Vicki Alyne Poindexter

Vicki Poindexter passed away suddenly on September 6, 2018. She is survived by her mother, Mary Boling, stepfather, Edward Boling and brother, William Poindexter along with niece, Heather Bennett (Nathan), great niece, Brittany Bennett and longtime room mate Kathy Freeman and her three godchildren. She was preceded in death by her father, Robert Poindexter and a nephew, William Poindexter II.

Vicki retired in 2013 after a long career as a civilian with the Navy specializing in education training and graduate education.  She was a coordinator for the district Lay Speaking ministries of The United Methodist Church and taught widely to empower laity.  Vicki was also a 35-year Red Cross volunteer.  For over a decade, she was an at-large delegate to the Virginia Conference for the Arlington District and served the annual conference on the Commission on Disabilities.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested any contributions be made to Community of Faith United Methodist Church.
