So sorry to hear about Deborah. Was just thinking about her today. She was the specialty leasing manager for some malls I was in, notably Roosevelt Field Mall. I remember a deal she worked out for me like 20 years ago. I wanted a Christmas space for two months and Deborah allowed me the spot but I had to book the spot the entire year. So I barely broke even all year but made good money at the end. Thank you, Deborah! Anyway, after we ended up becoming friends and she even invited me to her wedding!
My condolences to her family. Rest in peace Deborah.

Debbie has been on my mind the last few months so I googled her and am shocked to find her obituary. She and I were friends in the early 80’s. I was much younger and she impressed me with her ability to have a home, throw a great super bowl party and work hard at her job. She actually got me my first job ..and when she moved to nyc she taught me how to navigate the city. We had a ball in her tiny blue Fiat car and she was always exuberant and so much fun. We lost touch somehow and all these years later, here I am thinking of her so strongly. My sincere condolences to her family. May you find peace. Debbie: you are lighting up heaven. No doubt. I’ll always remember our laughs at G.Washington Br. Rest easy girlfriend.

I am so sad to hear of Deborah's passing. We worked together years ago on an ICSC planning committee. I found her to be a very professional and fun partner
in the planning of the events and the off time experiences.
I extend my sincere condolences to her family and friends.

Deborah will be remembered as one of those rare people that took Teamwork seriously and if done well, always acknowledged and celebrated each individual as well as the entire group…Oh, how Deborah loved planning and putting together a “theme” in celebration of a “Job Well Done!”
She never forgot any date of significance -- birthdays, holidays, milestones, Administrative Assistants Day!
Ernest, Abigail, and Amanda I hope in this most difficult time of sorrow that you know that many of us knew Deborah as an eternal optimist and inexhaustible ‘Cheerleader’ ~ At this the most difficult time in your loss, may you find comfort and strength in each other and your extended family ~ “Weeping may endure for a night but joy cometh in the morning” Pslam 30:5

Elizabeth Ricarte posted a condolence

Dear Family,
I am just one of the hundreds of people that Deborah touched with her caring heart and loving, presence. Deborah was my boss for a quite a way ago, when I worked at Willowbrook Mall in Houston, Texas.
While there, Deborah made everyone feel like a hero on a daily basis. She was quick to give praise when deserved. She love holding contests to drive income among the properties and made boring meetings fun by engaging everyone in creative, silly ways. When we got together for team meeting we worked very hard! But Deborah understood the power of teambuilding and we often played hard too!
The last time she came to Houston we all frank appletinis! It was so much fun.
Even after I started to work for another developer, Deborah wrote me notes of encouragement, telling me how great my program looked. I loved her for that.
Deborah was perhaps the kindest, sweetest person I have ever had the pleasure of knowing. Her memory will for ever be alive in me and her love for others is a great example that I will try to follow. She embraced life. She embraced everyone.
I pray that you all will find peace and comfort in the coming days and will be able to smile again and be happy. She would have wanted it that way. Many blessings,
Elizabeth Ricarte
