Obituary of Robert G. Bidwell

Robert G. Bidwell, Jr.

Bob passed away unexpectedly on October 20.  Born in Seattle, he was the son of Robert G. Bidwell and the former Helen Jane Puckett who preceded him in death.  He is survived by his loving wife, Sue, sons John (DeLania), Matthew, and Stephen (Elisha), grandchildren McKenna and August, brothers Peter (Carol) and David (Jill), a niece and three nephews.

A proud graduate of Brown University who later obtained an MBA and DBA from George Washington University, Bob enjoyed a long career with the Federal Government before retiring from the Dept. of Energy.  He coached Reston Youth Soccer and Basketball for many years and is still fondly remembered by former players.

In retirement he enjoyed golf, fly fishing, fine dining, reading voraciously, traveling, scuba diving, and doting on Sue and his grandchildren. 

Friends may visit with the family at the Adams-Green Funeral Home in Herndon, Sunday, October 28, 5-7.  Interment will be at Chestnut Grove Cemetery at 11 am on Monday, Oct. 29.
