Obituary of Linda Huntt Crawford
Linda Huntt Crawford, 65, of Herndon, Virginia, passed away peacefully at Reston Hospital on Friday, Nov. 16, 2018, following a sudden illness.
Linda was born, Linda Ann Huntt on December 18, 1952 in St. Mary’s County, Maryland. . She was the youngest child of George E Huntt and Mary A Huntt both of whom are deceased. Her brother George and her sister Catherine also predeceased her. Linda is survived by her husband of 46 years, David Crawford, her children , David Crawford III, Andrew Crawford, Rachael Crespo, her grandchildren, Jonah, Maya and Clara Crespo, and her sister Diana McConnell.
After graduating from Chopticon High School in 1971, Linda moved to Washington D.C. and began working as a secretary at the Internal Revenue Service. It was there in the Summer of 1971 that she met her husband David, who was an attorney working at the agency. They were married at St. Johns Church in Hollywood, Maryland on May 13, 1972. In 1975 they purchased their first home just outside of Herndon, Va. They moved to the current residence, 12500 Rock Chapel Ct. Herndon, Va. in 1983.
Linda left the Internal Revenue Service when her first child, David was born in 1975. Once all three of her children were in school, she began working for the Fairfax County Public Schools as an administrative assistant. She worked at Herndon High School for many years and evntually went with Ellen Reilly to McLean High School where she retired as administrative assistant to the Principal in 2014
As a long- time member of the Herndon Woman’s Club, Linda’s tremendous creative talents have been applied often for the benefit of club members and others as well as various club activities. She was fond of gardening, loved to walk on the beach in St. Augustine, Fl. and enjoyed travelling.
The family will receive friends from 6pm until 8pm.on Tuesday, November 20, 2018 at Adams-Green Funeral Home in Herndon.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11am on Wednesday, November 21, 2018, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Herndon. Interment will take place in Chestnut Grove Cemetery
