Dr. Laurent was my urologist. He performed some minor surgery on me and helped me get through several kidney stone issues. I just learned of his passing, although I knew he was very ill. I last saw him just before he retired. A wonderful, smart, attentive doctor with a great personality. Coincidentally, he was also a classmate of mine at Brown University -- we were both in the class of 1977 -- but did not know each other then. He will be truly missed.

I was a patient of Dr. Laurents for many years. He saw me through many a kidney stone and many lithotripsy! He was a great doctor but such wonderful bed side manner. He was kind and comforting and always smiling. All the staff, nurses, etc. would see that my doctor was Dr. Laurent and they would all make a wonderful comment about how terrific he was. I referred so many friends to him and they all felt the same way. I knew that he was very sick but was thinking about him the last few days and looked up his name on line. I didn't realize how quickly he passed in 2018 after I was told he was retiring.
Prayers for you all as his family and I pray that the holidays you have wonderful memories to share and smile about.
Thank you for sharing such a wonderful man with so many of us! He made a life so much better!
God Bless!

Dr. Laurent was my Urologist during the 13 years I was a resident of Reston, Virginia. I am absolutely shocked and dismayed by his untimely passing. I can personally attest to his masterful skills as a surgeon, and always looked forward to my periodic visits to see him because I greatly enjoyed his enormous personal warmth and sense of humor. May the many happy memories you surely have of him continue to burn brightly over the years. He was a truly wonderful man.

Our hearts are sadden to hear of the passing of Dr. Laurent. I was a patient of his for a few years during that time Dr. Laurent was patient, professional, and displayed such a warm and calming Spirit. I recall needing emergency surgery during the late hours of a weekend. Much to my families surprise, Dr. Laurent showed up, lead the team, and performed the surgery. What dedication. Thank you for sharing him with us. Dr. Laurent will be missed.

Dear Peggy,
I just found out about Dan’s untimely passing shortly after Thanksgiving. I am so sorry for your loss. I really appreciated Dan as a colleague and fellow board member. He guided the board with gentle authority. I look back with fond memories at the times we enjoyed Reston Hospital functions with you. As you know, Dr Yeo also operated on me for pancreatic cancer. Dan really fought hard and dedicated himself to his patients even while under difficult treatment. I am doing well so far and will continue fighting to eradicate pancreatic cancer in his memory.
Prayers also from Mike, who loved being Dan’s patient.
Warmly, Eveline

We just learned of the passing of Dr. Laurent and would like to express our most deepest condolences to Mrs. Laurent and the entire family. May he Rest in Eternal Peace. We are very saddened to hear this news and are very sorry for your great loss. Please be assured of our thoughts and prayers for his soul. We will be forever grateful for Dr. Laurent for he saved our son’s life after having to perform emergency surgery on him when he was a young teenager. Dr. Laurent was caring, comforting and very assuring at a time we were so afraid and scared about the mere thought of losing a child. But with the gift of medicine that God blessed him with, our son is healthy and thriving. I will never forget how at our son’s final checkup, Dr. Laurent so kindly and sincerely gave him business his card and told him that if ever he felt sick again or needed to talk to please call him right away, even while he was away at college. That will forever stay in my heart because Dr. Laurent said it with his heart and not with the words he spoke with. He was a one-of-kind doctor who truly cared for his patients. Our world has lost a true brother in Christ and a wonderful human being. But heaven has received a saint . May God receive Dr. Laurent in His loving and caring arms. May perpetual light shine upon him. God bless you all and give you strength and comfort knowing Dr. Laurent was a true child of our Heavenly Father and is at peace.

To Daniels family,
I was dr. Laurent’s patient from 2002 to the present for the treatment of bladder cancer. From our very first discussion I felt at ease and confident we would have success in beating the cancer. I was always lifted up when we met either I his office or the hospital. He radiated confidence and admiration from all he came in contact with. He often spoke of his sons whom he was very proud of. He will be sorely missed. He always took time with myself and my family. He really cared for his patients.

Dan was a very dear friend and my very next neighbor for 22 years
I vividly remember Dan and Peggy welcoming me and my family when we first moved into our house 22 years ago, (it is hard to imagine that it was that long ago and yet it seems like yesterday).
Dan even came over to my house and helped me set up my first wine cellar, he even provided me with a set of wine shelving to accommodate over 200 bottles (Dan was quite a wine connoisseur and had a fantastic wine collection in his wine cellar)
I will never forget the help advice, consultation that Dan gave me free of charge when my brother from a far country needed a kidney transport. It was through his consultation that we were able to have a kidney transplant for my brother who subsequently lived for another 11 years
I will miss his barbeque aroma as we both would barbeque daily and on weekends across from our deck patios and share a laugh or two in conversation for all the years we have been neighbors.
For Peggy, Philip and Julian, remember you can always count on me for anything you need

I worked with Dr.Laurent for the last 15 yrs...we talked about our familes and shared many pics of our kids. I rem when I broke my Rt foot in a cast, working but unable to drive, I was complaining about needing my hair done. Dr. Laurent said...meet me out front I need to wrap up a few things but I will give you a ride to Arlington to get your hair done. Little did he realize that gesture meant more to me than $$. But that was him....kindhearted, funny, and always trying to get me to eat a steak that was still moving on the plate....He so loved his family and was very proud of his 2 sons. SIP you are soooo missed. Karen Wills
