Obituary of Cindy Lynn Williams

Cynthia Lynn Williams, 49, of Reston VA, passed away on Saturday, December 8^th after a courageous battle with cancer.

Cindy was born on July 21, 1969 and was the daughter of Norman Edgar Williams and Shelba Jean Martin.

She was a resident of Northern Virginia and a graduate of Flint Hill High School and American University.  Cindy worked for The American Red Cross and EDS, but her true passion was animal rescue.  She was actively involved in animal rescue for about 20 years prior to opening her first PetMAC (pet supplies store) location in Arlington in 2005.  Cindy subsequently moved PetMAC to the Lake Anne Center in Reston, VA in January, 2015.

Cindy instantly became known as a like minded small business owner within the community.  She promoted other local businesses and formed many lasting friendships in the process.

In addition to her dedication to animal care and rescues, Cindy was an avid traveler and literally traveled throughout the world, having explored all seven continents. 

In her free time, Cindy enjoyed volunteering at the Culinaria Cooking School in Vienna, VA where she assisted with classes and enjoyed learning about different recipes and skills and techniques for preparing a variety of cuisines. 

But Cindy’s greatest joy was always spending time with friends and family.  She especially took pleasure in spoiling her nieces and nephew; she was everyone’s favorite aunt.

Cindy was preceded in death by her mother, father, and her sister, Angie.

A service for Cindy Williams will be held on Thursday, December 20th, at 3 pm, at: Adams-Green Funeral Home at 721 Elden Street, Herndon, VA 20171.

There will be a celebration of life reception following the service from 5 pm - 8 pm at: Kalypso’s Sports Tavern located at 1617 Washington Plaza N, Reston, VA 20190.
