Obituary of Bruce Reed Lipin

It is with great sadness that the family of Bruce Reed Lipin announces his passing after a brief illness, on December 19^th 2018, at the age of 71 years.

A native of New York City, Bruce attended undergrad at the City College of NY and attained a doctorate from Pennsylvania State University in Geology.  In 1974 Bruce and his wife Cookie moved to Reston, Virginia and started a 39 year career at the United States Geological Survey serving as Chief of the Branch of Eastern Mineral Resources from 1988 to 1993.

Bruce will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 47 years, Cookie, his sons Adam and Jonah and their spouses Lynn and Cassandra. Bruce will also be fondly remembered by his three grandchildren, Noah, Zack, & Sloane, by his sister, Randi and nieces Tracy and Kaitlyn.

A Celebration of Life in memory of Bruce will be held on Sunday, January 20th, from 1:00 – 4:00 p.m., at Midtown Reston 11990 Market Street, Reston, VA.
