Obituary of David Schmid, Jr.

On Tuesday, December 25th, David Schmid, loving son, brother and uncle, passed away at the age of 37.

David was born on February 17, 1981 to John and Beth Schmid in Alexandria, VA. After four strong years academically and athletically at Oakton High School in Vienna, VA, he went to receive his bachelor’s degree from Virginia Tech in 2003.

David had a passion for sports and movies, and was known for his love of sports jerseys. He was always personable, fun and had a smile that could light up the room.

David is survived by his proud parents, John and Beth, along with his younger brothers Brian, Mike and Kevin, his sisters in-law Erin and Megan, and his niece Sadie. David was surrounded by a loving and supportive set of aunts, uncles and cousins.

A funeral mass will be held on Monday, December 31st, at 11:00am at St John Neumann Catholic Church in Reston, VA. There will be a Visitation Hour starting at 10:00am and all are welcome to come honor David.
