Hannelore was a wonderful friend to my mother, Leonore Nillissen (Rosenboom) who valued their friendship going back to their school days in Bremen Germany. I remember when she came to the party we had for my parents' 50th wedding anniversary here in Elmhurst, IL, which made my mom sooo happy! I was very sorry to hear of her passing. She has left a legacy of strong family and friends. My condolences to all.

Hannelore with Harriet Shanks Platt (1898-1979). Hannelore met Calvin at the Chicago, Illinois home of Mrs. Platt and her husband, Professor Robert Swanton Platt (1891-1964), and, like many others (Plattaches), were recipients of the Platts' extraordinary hospitality and many other kindnesses. They remained lifelong friends.
