Obituary of Heidi Elizabeth Galvin

Heidi E. Galvin, age 45, of Herndon, VA died on September 11, 2010 at Reston Hospital Center. She was born on October 1, 1964 in Lynn, MA. After graduating from Salem State College she taught school for the New York City School system, until joining the Peace Corp with her husband in 1990. She was currently working for S.M.S. Data products Group, McLean, VA as a systems developer. She was a den mother for her son's Cub Scout Troop for 7 years and was an avid oil painter. Heidi was the beloved wife of 20 years of John E. Galvin, loving and devoted mother of Fiona and Declan Galvin, daughter of Redmond "Jerry" Cassidy and Catherine G.S. Cassidy, both of Swampscott, MA, sister of Catherine "Debbie" Cassidy of Salem, MA, Margaret White of Wilmington, MA and Wendy Cassidy of Swampscott, MA. The family will receive friends on Monday, September 13 th and Tuesday, September 14 th from 6-8pm at Adams-Green Funeral Home, 721 Elden Street, Herndon, VA. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, September 15 th at 11am at Christ the Redeemer Catholic Church, 46833 Harry Byrd Hwy., Sterling, VA. Internment will be private. In lieu of flowers the family suggests that memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 124 Park Street S.E., Vienna, VA 22180.
