When I think of you I see your smile.
That is one memory that won't be deleted from my file.
The sound of your laughter and voice is starting to fade.
To hear you again for anything I would trade.
If I had the chance to be with you once more.
I would not be in a rush as I was before.
I would stay with you hour after hour,
while you cooked your steaks of which we would devour.
Then we would drive the Blue Ridge Parkway for the rest of the day.
Singing "Oom Poppa Mow Mow High-o silver away".
When I have problems I still want to call you on the phone.
I still need you no matter how much I've grown.
I know that you are watching me from up above.
Shaking your head with unconditional love.
You will be with me when I walk down the aisle one day.
If he is not the right one trip him in the aisle, okay.
I will not say good-bye because I'll see you again.

I miss you daddy. Still to this day, over two years later when I am having problems I reach for the phone to call you (Old habits are hard to break). The past couple of birthdays all I want is to hear you sing Happy Birthday to me like Marilyn Monroe. I try to find peace knowing that we will meet again one day.
