Obituary of Shuang Jin

Shuang Jin On Friday, August 5 th , 2011, Dr. Shuang Jin, a beloved husband and father, passed away at INOVA Loudoun Hospital in Leesburg, Virginia. He is survived by his loving wife, Jing Ming Chen, and son, Yi Jin. Dr. Jin was born on March 26 th , 1953, in Tianjin, China. Dr. Jin graduated from Shanghai Jiao Tong University (SJTU, Shanghai, China) with a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering and M.S. in Shock, Vibration & Acoustics. In 1995, Dr. Jin obtained his Ph.D. degree in Structures & Dynamics from the George Washington University. In his professional life, Shuang was a lifelong engineer who had a distinguished research career in the field of advanced nonlinear dynamics analysis of complex mechanical/civil structural systems and smart systems for structural health monitoring. In his personal life, Shuang lived his life to the fullest. He was an avid musician, antique collector, and fisherman. Shuang's favorite activities included playing the piano, collecting art paintings and antiques, and fishing on the Potomac River. Shuang was also a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. He will be sorely missed by his family and friends. Heaven is a richer place with Dr. Shuang Jin in it. A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, August 13 th , 2011 at ADAMS - GREEN FUNERAL HOME, 721 Elden Street, Herndon, Va on Saturday, August 13, 2011 from 5pm to 7pm.
